If hiking is part of your life, try the various pedestrian walks that Serra do Caramulo has to offer. From the Grande Rota do Caramulo, with about 30 km, for the more adventurous, to the Rota dos Caleiros, of 8.2 km, where you can visit the Capela de Jueus, the Moinhos de Água / Caleiros or the fantastic Medieval Sidewalk. Satisfy your curiosity about history and visit the various monuments of the Megalithic period, more than 10,000 years old, scattered throughout the mountains. The Tapir of Espírito Santo d’Arca or the Tapir of Arquinha da Moura (or Dolmen of Lajeosa) are examples of these historical marks in the region.

Points of interest
Caramulinho
It is the highest point of Serra do Caramulo, with 1075 meters of altitude. Venture out and climb a stone staircase, with about 300 wide, firm steps and good access. During the trip there are picnic tables. When you reach the top, glimpse a breathtaking landscape. On clear days, you can see the Estrela, Lapa, Montemuro mountains, the Ria de Aveiro and the sea. Suitable for kids and adults.
Cabeço da Neve
It starts at the Museu do Caramulo and to get there you just have to follow the road upwards and go about 2.6 km. From this viewpoint you can see the Serra da Estrela and the largest valley of Portugal with 70 km away.
Fonte dos Amores
Ancient history tells that in the heyday of Estancia Sanatorial it was the place of choice for lovers to exchange vows of love. It is a viewpoint hidden in Rua Canas de Sabugosa, on the hillside of Vila do Caramulo, with benches and stone table and a small waterfall. On the walls of the viewpoint there are two tile panels: one is a copy of the work of the painter José Malhoa and the other is by the painter and the italian ceramist Leopoldo Battistini.
Roman pavement
Section of Roman road, about 3.50 m wide. The route is interrupted in its last third by crossing a secondary road.
Pelourinho
Structure in granite, vane and iron stonework, dating from the 17th century, about two meters high. Over it rises an iron vane that crosses the metallic pinwheel, in the shape of a rooster. Pelourinho is located in the village of Janardo in Caramulo.
Reserva Botânica de Cambarinho
The Cambarinho Botanical Reserve has the highest concentration of oleanders in Europe. Through its walkways it is possible to see a true colorful spectacle allowed by this rare species of spontaneous growth.
It is located in the village of Cambarinho, on the north side of Serra do Caramulo and was created in 1971, and is currently under the tutelage of the Instituto da Conservação da Natureza e das Florestas (ICNF)
Dolmen from Lapa de Meruje
Located in an open valley area, in the heart of Serra do Caramulo, it is a megalithic monument with a polygonal chamber, with 6 pillars and a cover. It is signposted on the road between Carvalhal de Vermilhas and Couto, 30 minutes away from Caramulo.
Baloiço Barriga da Mulher
The Barriga de Mulher swing was the first swing in the Serra do Caramulo. Get the perfect angle and record the best moments overlooking the Serra do Caramulo. Relax, listen and taste the wind. There are images that are worth a thousand words.
